Slowly but surely, the Indians’ outfield is returning to full strength. Brandon Guyer has been activated from the disabled list, where he spent the better part of a month after suffering a left wrist sprain. To make room for Guyer, Melky Cabrera has been designated for assignment.
Now that he is back with the big league club, Guyer will need to improve upon a sluggish start to the season that saw him slashing .150/.244/.325 through 33 games. He was having some relative success against left-handed pitching — .229/.339/.500 with 3 home runs and 9 RBI in 48 at-bats — so hopefully he can build on that.
