CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Texas' early offense Monday amounted to the baseball version of "shock and awe," but it was Cleveland's "death by a thousand paper cuts" gambit that won the day.
Rangers hitters slugged four home runs and opened a 9-2 lead before the Indians rattled off 13 straight runs in a stunning 15-9 comeback win.
Texas catcher Jonathan Lucroy said afterward that Cleveland's patience at the plate was the key to the Tribe's comeback.
"They (Indians) sat in there and waited for pitches," Lucroy said. "They waited us out, got good pitches to hit and they didn't miss them.
