CLEVELAND, Ohio -- TBS said it regrets airing a graphic that outraged many Cleveland fans during postgame coverage of the Indians' win over the Boston Red Sox in the ALDS on Monday night.
"Cleveland is a great city and we regret the use of the image," a network spokesperson told cleveland.com. "We look forward to putting the focus back on an exciting ALCS."
The graphic depicted the TBS baseball crew photoshopped over an image of a burning river, an outdated joke referencing the 1969 Cuyahoga River fire. "Welcome to Cleveland," the image said, teasing the start of the American League Championship.
