Swing and a miss: The out pitches that make the Cleveland Indians' starting pitchers successful

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The Indians' starting pitchers rank second in the American League in strikeout rate. They have a knack for finding their way to strike three.

It helps to have a group of hurlers with repertoires full of out pitches. Not only do four of the five starters tend to throw their heaters in the mid-90s, but each possesses the off-speed stuff necessary to rack up strikeouts.

The starters certainly make life easy on their battery mates.

"They make Chris [Gimenez] and I look really good, that's for sure," said catcher Yan Gomes. "We don't have to try to learn about them so much.
