The Guardians took the momentum from the Thursday night game and decided to add more offense as they trounced the Athletics 12-5 in Mesa, AZ. Joey Cantillo got the start for the Guardians as they went for their fifth win of Spring Training. Amid everything, they decided to host their home run derby in the middle of the game.
- Kyle Manzardo hit his second homer of Spring, a two-run homer, in the top of the 1st
- Daniel Schneemann also hit his second, a two-run homer, in the top of the 2nd
- Austin Hedges, yes Hedges, got his first dinger of the year in the top of the 3rd
- Tyler Freeman got in on the homer parade with his first in the top of the 4th
- Micah Pries hit his first of the Spring as well with a three-run homer in the top of the 8th
By the time the fourth inning was over, the Guardians hit four homers and were up 8-0 after four full innings of work.
