CLEVELAND -- The Indians appear to be on the verge of shaking things up on the left side of their infield.
Following Sunday's 7-3 loss to the Orioles, Cleveland reportedly optioned struggling shortstop Jose Ramirez to Triple-A Columbus, according to Yahoo! Sports. The Indians would not confirm the transaction, though it is likely that the team will announce the move, and possibly others, as early as Monday morning.
On the surface, optioning Ramirez would seem to trigger the highly anticipated promotion of Cleveland's top prospect, shortstop Francisco Lindor. On Sunday night, though, Lindor was in the lineup for Triple-A Columbus as the team's designated hitter, while playing through some minor nagging injuries.
