Salazar lasts 1 inning in return from disabled list

CLEVELAND -- Indians right-hander Danny Salazar returned to the mound Thursday for the first time since Aug. 1, and he lasted only one inning.

Prior to the series finale against the White Sox at Progressive Field, the Indians announced that Salazar (right elbow inflammation) had been activated from the disabled list. He started opposite Chicago left-hander Carlos Rodon in the divisional rubber match, but he walked the bases loaded before giving up a three-run double to Justin Morneau in the first inning, putting the Indians in a 3-0 hole.

Salazar was seen talking with pitching coach Mickey Callaway in the dugout before Kyle Crockett entered in relief, and Salazar went to the Indians' bullpen and continued throwing after his departure.
