CLEVELAND– The Cleveland Indians and right-handed pitcher Danny Salazar avoided arbitration on Friday by agreeing to a one-year deal.
Salazar will make $5 million in the 2018 season. On Friday the team also avoided arbitration with Lonnie Chisenhall, who will make $5.58 million. Earlier this week, the Tribe avoided arbitration with one-year deals with both closer Cody Allen ($10.575 million) and reliever Zach McAllister ($2.45 million) as well.
The only player the Indians have yet to reach a deal with is Trevor Bauer, but the two sides did exchange salary figures before the Friday evening deadline.
