CLEVELAND: Indians manager Terry Francona has been holding meetings lately — more than he has in a long time. He isn’t normally that type of manager, the one who likes speaking in front of different audiences all day.
The Indians have kept a fairly positive standing in part because of a lackluster showing around the division, but they have yet to hit the kind of stride many thought was possible. They entered the weekend 30-28 and within striking distance of first place in the American League Central Division — but the expectations for this season are higher than that.
