CLEVELAND: The Indians have potential needs around the roster, the ammunition to pull off a variety of moves and a reason to be aggressive within this current contention window. The question, and the difficulty, is if they can find the right value on the market compared to their in-house options.
If Lonnie Chisenhall and Brandon Guyer were each out for the year, perhaps the Indians would be more inclined to pull the trigger at a higher price tag for an outfielder to bolster the lineup. If the starting rotation had recently experienced several injuries, as it did prior to last year’s postseason, maybe a bigger move for a starting pitcher could be made.
