CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The Indians played into November for the first time in franchise history.
That meant two things: They nearly captured their first championship since 1948 and they drastically reduced the length of their offseason.
Spring training is right around the corner.
Soon, the snow will arrive, and before it melts away for good, the Indians will venture west for seven weeks of practice.
Pitchers and catchers are scheduled to report to the team's complex in Goodyear, Arizona, on Feb. 12. The rest of the squad is slated to report on Feb. 16.
The Indians will begin the spring slate with a game against the Reds at Goodyear Ballpark, which both teams share.
