NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The scoreboard at Progressive Field looms large over the left-field bleachers and was a state-of-the-art addition to the ballpark a little more than a decade ago. Time and technology changes, and Cleveland is taking a necessary step with one of the focal points of its home stadium.
On Monday, the Indians announced that a new, updated scoreboard is being installed at Progressive Field, replacing the board that was constructed in 2004. The new high-definition screen will measure 59 feet high and 221 feet wide, creating a display area of 13,000 square feet.
Other boards throughout the ballpark will also be upgraded as part of the team's ongoing renovations, which will also include a new club behind home plate, upgraded concessions and a new sound system.
