CLEVELAND, Ohio - For the 47th year, Hellriegel's Inn in Painesville will mark the anniversary of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor with a special remembrance dinner at 6 p.m. on Dec. 7.
The tradition started in 1965 when shipmates of owner Bill Kochever, a World War II vet who served aboard the aircraft carrier USS Enterprise, got together to remember the day that launched America into the war, 75 years ago.
For 30 years the dinner at Hellriegel's 1840 Mentor Avenue, was open to all veterans, provided they wear some part of their uniform to the event.
