LGFT Francisco Mejia was called up and made his Padres debut yesterday. He pinch hit and struck out. After being traded by the Indians in July, Mejia batted .328/.364/.582 in the Pacific Coast League. The .582 SLG he posted for the El Paso Chihuahuas was by far the best such mark he posted anywhere in the minor leagues.
Meanwhile, over in the league where they play actual baseball, Brad Hand and Adam Cimber both pitched in the Indians’ 9-3 win over the Kansas City Royals. Ned Yost has recently said that his 46-92 ballclub plays good baseball, but lol—not in this one.
