One usual suspect — Oscar Mercado — and one unusual suspect — Jason Kipnis — led the charge for the Cleveland Indians against the Texas Rangers on Tuesday night, scoring a 10-3 victory to back another strong start from Tribe rookie Zach Plesac.
Plesac showed no signs of a hangover after his worst start of the season a week ago against the Reds. The Indians’ rookie right-hander held Texas to a single run over seven innings of work, surrendering two hits and five walks and striking out six. The Rangers didn’t even have a hit until Rougned Odor’s moonshot home run in the fifth inning.
