CLEVELAND, Ohio – Corey Kluber continued to move through the Cactus League portion of his season Wednesday at Sloan Park in Mesa, Arizona with a minimum of fuss and worry.
He threw three scoreless innings as the Indians beat the Cubs, 5-3. He has not allowed a run in five innings this spring.
The drama, well, that didn't come until the ninth inning. By then Kluber's day was over.
Kluber retired the side in order in first, but loaded the bases in the second with two out. JuanCarlos Perez hit into a force play at second to end the inning and set up Kluber's highlight of the day.
