Here’s to a great week!
Emmanuel Clase and Delino Deshields are the return for the Indians’ former ace.
From Joe Noga:
Clase (pronounced Class-A) was ranked the No. 30 prospect in the Rangers’ organization by MLB Pipeline, but made his big league debut during the 2019 season and appeared in 21 games for Texas, striking out 21 batters in 23 1/3 innings with a 2.31 ERA.
Cleveland expects Clase to be a weapon late in games during the 2020 season, according to president of baseball operations Chris Antonetti.
“There aren’t that many guys that average 100 mph with their fastball and not only have the great velocity but also have the great life to it with the cut he has to his fastball,” Antonetti said.
