The schedule lined the Guardians up against a great pitcher last night, and things went about as poorly as they could have.
In the early innings, the Guards continued to play the wonderful defense they have put on the field so far this season. The defense that prevented LL Ortiz from giving up 10 runs also kept Logan Allen in the game (a Vince Wilfork-sized strike zone helped too). Once Allen left, that defense disintegrated. Carlos Santana is so pleasant to watch at first after years of Josh Naylor, but Gabriel Arias is an enormous step down from the platinum-gloved Andres Gimenez.
