News and Notes: Tribe to monitor Zimmer following head injury

Last night’s game: Cleveland 5, Detroit 2

Corey Kluber wasn’t at his best, but he still went eight innings, giving up just one run. That previous sentence is hard to type without laughing uncontrollably, but such is the standard that Kluber has set this year. He did throw an astounding 84 of his 114 pitches for strikes (with no walks), so in some way he channeled his inner Josh Tomlin.

The ninth inning was interesting, and Bryan Shaw gave way to Cody Allen to get the 27th out, which is a disappointment given how the game started out.
