Last night’s game: Cleveland 4, Kansas 0
For the first five innings, the Indians couldn’t touch Jason Hammel. Then Bradley Zimmer broke up the nascent perfect game with a solid single up the middle, and then Roberto Perez broke the scoreless tie with a two-run homer. Zimmer excelled in the field as well, tracking down a potential RBI extra-base hit with a diving catch. Mike Clevinger held the Royals scoreless in six innings of work, battling through a difficult fourth inning. Edwin Encarnacion and Carlos Slamtana Santana topped off the win with solo homers.
