The frustration is beginning to mount with the Guardians.
Coming into Monday, the Guardians hadn't won a series against the Yankees since 2021 in the Bronx, and their fortunes didn't change here. The starting pitching was poor in games two and three, and outside of a largely luck-dependent 12th inning in game one, the offense put up four runs across the regulation nine innings combined in this series, and it’s far from a Yankees problem for the Guardians.
On their 1-5 roadtrip, the Guardians had 57 innings at bat. Here's the offensive breakdown:
5 innings with one run
1 inning with three runs
1 inning with six runs
50 innings with zero runs— Zack Meisel (@ZackMeisel) August 22, 2024This offense has been bad for a while now, namely against right-handed pitching.
