The Guardians defeated the Tigers 7-3 to win their five-game series and advance to the ALCS to face the dreaded New York Yankees.
For this season, the Guardians went 10-8 against the Guardians, and the Tigers outscored them 73-69. They matched up well against each other and I think the Tigers would still be playing had they not traded Guardians-killer Jack Flaherty at the trade deadline. Of course, rumors are that they would not even consider trading Flaherty to the Guardians, so I have less than registerable sympathy for them.
Matt Seese will have a recap for us, so I will instead share some of my favorite social media highlights from Twitter (sorry if you don’t have Twitter):
GRITTY TIGS THOUGHT THEY COULD EAT AT THE BIG BOYS TABLE SEASON OVER.
