Williams gave up eight hits and two walks leading to six runs in four innings. That’s not going to get it done against one of the best teams in baseball. To me, it appears Williams has to be able to reliably throw his secondary stuff for strikes to get hitters off of sitting on his fastball. It’s fixable stuff, but tough to have your sophomore pitcher go through those growing pains in a playoff chase.
