Believe it or not, the 2018 MLB draft has snuck right up on us, with the first round taking place today.
Depending on how your team is doing, the MLB First-Year Player Draft can be one of the more exciting moments of the season as teams reload their farm systems with the best high school and collegiate players available. For a lot of players, the trip to the big leagues never becomes a reality; for some, they will eventually become Major League starters, All-stars, and potentially even Hall of Fame members.
For the current season, the Cleveland Indians aren’t playing great, but they’re still in the winning their division, so most fans will continue to be focused on the current iteration of the major league team as opposed to shifting focus to the players of the next few years.
