CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Persistent protesters of the Cleveland Indians' Chief Wahoo logo gained a little momentum recently when MLB commissioner Rob Manfred became more proactive in trying to persuade the Indians to transition away from the controversial logo.
Even though Chief Wahoo has a staunch contingent of supporters, Cleveland had already taken steps over the last few years to make the logo less visible by making it secondary to a block 'C' and script 'Indians' on the uniform.
But with Cleveland favored to return to the World Series this year and hosting the All-Star Game in 2019, it would seem the commissioner is determined to see the Indians phase out the Chief.
