Mike Napoli and Carlos Santana, the Cleveland Indians' new Bash Brothers: Zack Meisel's musings

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- During spring training, Mike Napoli told Carlos Santana that the two sluggers would both hit 30 home runs this season.

So when Santana finished his leisurely trot around the bases and retreated to the dugout on Thursday afternoon, the two veterans embraced and reflected on Napoli's prophecy.

"It's a special moment for me and him," Napoli said.

These aren't the old Oakland Athletics Bash Brothers, with home-run balls smacking scoreboards -- although Napoli has come close -- and home-run totals reaching the 40s. For the Indians' franchise, though, it's a power-driven tandem not duplicated in more than a decade.
