Michael Brantley Becomes First Player in 2018 ASG History to bat in a run without a homer

There were 14 runs scored in last night’s All-Star game. 13 of them were batted in on home runs. The lone run that was not was plated in the 10th inning when a Michael Brantley sacrifice fly scored Jean Segura.

Segura had previously hit a 3-run homer off of Josh Hader in the 8th, which the MVP voters apparently forgot about. By the time they chose, they must have been so happy that their 10 inning stay in DC didn’t turn into 11 and went with Alex Bregman, who untied it then.

Bregman and his teammate Springer went back-to-back before Brantley’s sac fly added the AL’s final run.
