Matt Esparza goes seven shutout innings in Akron victory, Luis Jimenez strikes out career high 11 for Lake County

A ton of bases on balls and a strong outing from the bullpen allowed Columbus to pull out the victory despite being outhit 8-3 on the night.

The Clippers were walked a whopping 12 times on the night. Rehabbing Abraham Almonte went 0-1 with three walks, while Nellie Rodriguez and Richie Shaffer both walked twice. Erik Kratz was hit by a pitch and came around to score the go-ahead run in the eighth inning on a throwing error.

On the pitching side of things, Chris Narveson tossed four solid innings, giving up one run and striking out five and the bullpen finished the job with five innings of work without giving up an earned run to give the team a chance to take the lead late.
