The glut of outfielders that the Indians had in February and March is continuing to be thinned out by both injury and pure stupidity. First it was Abraham Almonte and now, Marlon Byrd.
Although it hasn’t been confirmed by MLB, rumors are running at a fever pitch that Byrd will once again be caught with another PED violation. Byrd was also suspended 2012, in which he proclaimed his innocence.
This time, though? He’ll likely have a harder time with trying to get people to look the other way.
If Byrd is suspended (and it would be an unbelievable stroke of good fortune for him if he isn’t), he is gone for 50 games under the newer PED suspension rules.
