Marla Ridenour: Jose Ramirez’s bold swagger gives Indians the confidence they need

CLEVELAND: In a couple of weeks, everyone may meet the Indians’ “George Jefferson.”

When the playoffs begin, fans around the nation might learn about the best walk in baseball.

Not walk as in ball four. Walk as in strut, as in the jaunty swagger Tribe third baseman Jose Ramirez uses to cross a room.

With his arms slightly away from his body, his shoulders straight and his chest puffed out, Ramirez looks like a cross between Popeye and the Michelin Man.

Or, because of the side-to-side motion of his gait, sitcom character George Jefferson, one of Ramirez’s nicknames in the Indians clubhouse.
