CLEVELAND, Ohio – With scouts from several Major League teams watching, the Cleveland Indians Advance-A affiliate, the Lynchburg Hillcats, have been putting on a show.
The MLB trade deadline is just over a week away and the Indians are rumored to be looking to deal, so teams are looking at what the Tribe has to offer. One player getting special attention is lefthander Justus Sheffield, the Indians first-round pick in 2014. The New York Yankees were among the teams watching his last start, and Sheffield didn't disappoint.
Sheffield, the Indians' No. 5 prospect gave up just four hits and worked 6 2/3 shutout innings in what became a 4-0 win over Wilmington on Tuesday.
