Lockout threat by MLB owners couldn't come at worse time for Cleveland Indians

CLEVELAND, Ohio – At night Indians' fans of a certain age, at their deepest moments of sleep, will spring out of bed, faces covered in sweat while gasping for breath.

The nightmare that awoke them has nothing to do with Game 7 losses in the World Series to the Cubs or Miami. It has nothing to do with Carlos Carrasco's broken right hand or Mike Napoli's disappearance from the plate in September, October and the early days of November.

What awakes them are the pale faces of Bud Selig and Don Fehr, emerging from yet another hotel boardroom, to explain why the 1994 season, and eventually the 1994 World Series, were cancelled.
