CLEVELAND -- The Indians have maintained hope that their offense would warm with the weather. On Thursday, Francisco Lindor backed up that belief with a leadoff home run against the Tigers.
Facing Detroit starter Michael Fulmer, Lindor sent a two-seamer to left field for an opposite-field shot that easily cleared Progressive Field's 19-foot wall. The blast was the first of the season for Lindor, who set a franchise record last year for most home runs by a middle infielder with 33.
Lindor's homer off Fulmer had an exit velocity of 106 mph and traveled 406 feet, according to Statcast™.
