CLEVELAND -- Francisco Lindor is the spark that can ignite the Indians' offense in the blink of an eye out of the leadoff spot. Michael Brantley is the steady hand behind him. Twice in the span of five games, the duo electrified the Progressive Field crowd with back-to-back power displays.
On Thursday night, Lindor and Brantley connected for home runs on two straight pitches against White Sox righty James Shields in the third inning. The back-to-back blasts came after Lindor and Brantley also went deep in consecutive at-bats to begin Saturday's game against the Tigers.
