ANAHEIM -- Indians right-hander Corey Kluber was working methodically through the Angels' order and embarking on an early flirtation with history on Wednesday afternoon, when Andrelton Simmons decided to take matters into his own hands.
With one out in the fifth inning, Simmons squared around and bunted a pitch from Kluber perfectly up the third-base line, breaking up the starter's no-hit bid. Cleveland third baseman Jose Ramirez charged after the ball and got off a quick throw to first base, but Simmons hustled up the line for a bunt single.
Kluber, who spun a complete game on Opening Day, had limited Los Angeles to an 0-for-13 showing prior to Simmons' hit.
