Corey Kluber, after a dominant August for the American League Central-leading Indians, was named the AL Pitcher of the Month on Saturday.
Kluber went 5-0 in six starts during the month -- the best record in the leagues during that span -- while notching quality starts in all six outings, giving him a career-high 10 straight quality starts dating back to July 8. The most recent Indians pitcher to have 10 quality starts in a row was Cliff Lee in 2009.
The 30-year-old posted a 2.43 ERA and struck out 44 batters in 40 2/3 innings.
