CLEVELAND -- Indians reliever Joba Chamberlain is expected to rejoin the club on Monday, when the team begins a 10-game road trip with a four-game set in Seattle.
Prior to Sunday's series finale against Kansas City at Progressive Field, Cleveland manager Terry Francona said that Chamberlain would return on time. The right-hander was placed on the 15-day disabled list on May 22 with a strained left intercostal.
"We will activate him tomorrow," Francona said. "After the game today, we will have to [make a roster move]. We are not going to fly someone all the way to Seattle unless something happens.
