Indians to move Danny Salazar to bullpen to work out issues; Corey Kluber schedule becomes clearer

CLEVELAND: For at least a short stretch, Indians pitcher Danny Salazar will soon be working out of the bullpen.

Salazar has struggled this season, posting a 3-5 record and 5.50 ERA in 10 starts. The club revamped his pregame routine a few weeks ago to try to fix his first-inning issues. Now, the hope is that some time in the bullpen might be the answer. It’s a move the Indians have previously made with Carlos Carrasco and Trevor Bauer as they worked through their own issues.

Per Indians manager Terry Francona, Salazar will throw a side session on Monday and then be available out of the bullpen for the first time on either Wednesday or Thursday.
