CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Daniel Robertson's leadoff double in the third inning led to the first run of the game Thursday as Oakland pitcher Jharel Cotton bounced a pair of wild pitches to the backstop, scoring Robertson from third base.
Robertson wrapped a double around third base and down the left field line to lead off the third inning and advanced to third base on Cotton's first wild pitch of the day with Roberto Perez batting.
Cotton then bounced another pitch in the dirt past Athletics catcher Josh Phegley as Robertson raced home.
The wild pitches were Cotton's fifth and sixth of the season.
