Indians reliever Bryan Shaw might be one of the more interesting cases on the club for two main reasons.
The first is his perception compared to performance.
He’s been one of the more durable workhorses in any bullpen the past four years, pitching in at least 70 games since Indians manager Terry Francona took over in 2013. In total, he’s appeared in 299 games in that time, the most in baseball. His highest ERA in any season is 3.24. His highest WHIP is 1.26.
And yet, there he is, being told by more than a few fans to hit the road.
