Indians report: Mark Shapiro expected to be named President and CEO of Toronto Blue Jays; owner Paul Dolan reportedly looking to add minority owner in effort to increase salaries

CLEVELAND: Indians President Mark Shapiro is expected to be named President and CEO of the Toronto Blue Jays on Monday, according to multiple reports.

The Indians start a three-game series against the Blue Jays in Toronto on Monday.

Shapiro, who has been with the Indians for 24 years, is in his fifth season as president after serving as general manager for nine seasons. General Manager Chris Antonetti could potentially follow in Shapiro’s footsteps in the same order of succession of GM-to-president, an outside candidate could come in or owner Paul Dolan could absorb the position and keep Antonetti as GM and Mike Chernoff as assistant general manager.
