The Indians have recalled right-hander Austin Adams from Triple-A Columbus and designated veteran right-hander Scott Atchison for assignment.
Adams, 28, has split this season between Columbus and Cleveland, and will be marking his fifth stint with the big-league club.
In seven appearances with the Tribe this season, he has a 2.38 ERA in 11 1/3 innings.
In his ninth Major League season -- second with the Indians -- Atchison appeared in 23 games, posting a 6.86 ERA out of the bullpen. He appeared in 70 games last year, going 6-0 with a 2.75 ERA.
