Catcher Francisco Mejia, currently a member of the Cleveland Indians High-A affiliate Lynchburg Hillcats, extended his hit-streak to 30 games on Monday night.
Mejia was recently promoted from Lake County after hitting .347 over 60 games with 7 home runs and 51 RBI in the Midwest League.
Since joining the Hillcats in the Carolina League, the switch-hitter is 6-for-20 in five games with two doubles, a triple, and three runs batted in.
The 20-year-old native of the Dominican Republic is still a long ways away from the Majors, but will be playing in the Futures Game in San Diego as part of the 2016 All-Star festivities, and is a name to remember in Cleveland’s farm system.
