Indians notebook: Francisco Lindor holding his own at shortstop, finding his way at the plate; Nick Hagadone placed on 15-day disabled list

CLEVELAND: So far, the Indians have gotten about what they expected out of shortstop Francisco Lindor in his first couple of weeks in the big leagues.

Lindor’s dealt with bit of a learning curve adjusting to major league pitching, hitting .205 entering Wednesday’s game with 19 strikeouts, two extra-base hits and six RBI in 21 games. But after a few early defensive blunders, Lindor has been nothing short of a spectacular at shortstop, living up to his high billing and making almost nightly highlight-reel plays.

He’s been about par-for-the-course for a 21-year-old shortstop with only a handful of at-bats above Double-A and lofty expectations, a blend of speed bumps and flashes of brilliance.
