Indians notebook: Carlos Carrasco’s next start pushed back two days; Abraham Almonte placed on disabled list

CLEVELAND: The Indians announced Tuesday that starting pitcher Carlos Carrasco will have his next start pushed back two days.

Carrasco left Monday night’s game in the fourth inning with tightness in his left pectoral muscle. The Indians believe the extra two days is all he needs before taking the mound again, which would tentatively be May 23 in Cincinnati.

“The idea is to give him two days of just letting him be in the training room,” Manager Terry Francona said. “And then he’ll start his five-day cycle up to pitching, which puts him the second day in Cincinnati.
