Left fielder Michael Brantley is set to hit the field again Tuesday, when he’ll begin his rehab assignment with Triple-A Columbus, the team announced Monday.
Brantley, rehabbing from offseason shoulder surgery, has been off the field since March 21, when he appeared in his second spring training game. He played well but his shoulder didn’t respond like he and the team had hoped, and he was shut down for about a week before resuming hitting activities.
Brantley was with the team progressing through hitting drills work in Cleveland last week and then traveled to Columbus when the Indians hit the road for their weekend series against the Chicago White Sox.
