CLEVELAND -- The Indians wasted little time in breaking through against Mariners starter Erasmo Ramirez on Friday night, launching three home runs in the first inning.
Francisco Lindor, Michael Brantley and Edwin Encarnacion each went deep to give Cleveland its first three-homer inning of the season. It marked the first time that the Indians belted three homers in one frame since Aug. 27, 2017, against the Royals, and the first time doing so in the first since July 8, 2016, against the Yankees.
Lindor got things started with an eight-pitch at-bat that ended in a leadoff blast over the wall in right-center field, marking his fifth career leadoff homer.
