CLEVELAND, Ohio – Die-hard Indians fans sounded off Monday over news that a Canadian court might take action against Chief Wahoo.
The Superior Court of Justice in Toronto was to hear arguments this afternoon on whether the team name Indians and the chief's likeness should be barred from use in Ontario – including at tonight's Game 3 of the American League Championship Series -- because it is demeaning to the indigenous population.
Several hundred fans sounded off quickly, with most defending Chief Wahoo, branding criticisms of the name and the logo as a lot of Blue Jay squawk.
