Indians defeat Royals 5-4 in extra-innings

It was a fast start for the Tribe on Thursday night. Everybody’s favorite shortstop, Francisco Lindor, homered on the first pitch of the game to give the Tribe an early 1-0 lead. After that quick start, it was a long, slow marathon to the finish, as it took 14 innings and 4 hours and 51 minutes of baseball for the Tribe to finally claim a 5-4 victory over the Royals.

The opening homer was a 402 foot blast and was Lindor’s 17th career leadoff homer. It came on a 92 mph fastball on the outside of the plate.
