CLEVELAND -- Prior to Saturday's game with the Blue Jays, the Indians announced they have activated right-hander Josh Tomlin from the Family Medical Emergency List. To make room for Tomlin, Cleveland optioned right-hander Shawn Armstrong to Triple-A Columbus.
Tomlin (11-6. 4.14 ERA) is slated to start the middle game of a three-game set at Progressive Field that will close out a season-high 11-game homestand. Tomlin spun 7 2/3 innings of three-run ball in a loss to the Red Sox his last time out. Prior to that, he allowed 14 runs over 8 2/3 innings in his first two starts this month.
